The Dolphins are fortunate this year to have Joy McDonald as their Associate Head Coach. In this capacity she will be working with swimmers on deck and parents in the stands to make this Dolphins' season the best yet. If you have a question, Coach Joy will have your answer.

Coach Joy brings to the Dolphins over seven years of experience in aquatics instruction. She began competitive swimming at the age of nine and by the age of thirteen had gone on to start coaching a summer swim team. Her coaching career began in earnest with the Mississippi Makos, a USA Swimming Club in the Mississippi LSC.

Since she moved to Georgia, Coach Joy has been working with the Athens Bulldog Swim Club's Pups, Gups, and Senior II Groups. She has also been instrumental in running ABSC's Super Sundays; a swim lesson program for 8 & unders that takes place during the academic year.

Coach Joy's experience extends to kids with special needs, and she has has several years of experience teaching special education swimming lessons. Most recently she has been putting those skills to work in the community by volunteering as a coach for an all-special education swim team in town.

Coach Joy is currently a senior majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Georgia.
