Coach Chris
Carter has been involved in the sport of swimming for most of his life. Having moved several times growing up, Coach Chris swam with a number of different teams across the US, but he spent his high school years in Atlanta. An avid student of the sport, he began his coaching career with Stingrays Swimming, a USA Swimming Club of Excellence in the Metro-Atlanta area. There he worked with Coach Ian Goss, one of the top coaches in the State.
After moving to Athens to attend the University of
Georgia, Coach Chris began working with ABSC, where his experience has ranged from the youngest developmental swimmers, seniors preparing to sign with a college. More recently he has been working with members of the UGA team, and has served as counselor of the Jack Bauerle UGA Swim Camp.
This past year Coach Chris accepted a position to serve as Assistant Coach of the Georgia Southern University Women's Swim Team, where he worked with former Dolphins swimmers Caroline Bevillard and Pirie Humphries.
Coach Chris is a 2010 graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.S. Degree in Sports Studies. He is currently working on a Masters at Georgia Southern.
